Pro: sehr runder Geschmack, mild nicht zu bitter und nicht zu süß Kontra: wenn man zuviel erwischt räumt er auch am folgenden Tag noch den Magen auf ;o)
...Meine erste Begegnung mit diesem Kräuterlikör hatte ich in meinem Italienischkurs. Wir hatten ausnahmsweise mal einen italienischen Schlemmerabend eingelegt und jeder hat was typisch Italienisches zum Essen oder Trinken mitgebracht.
Nachdem wir alle beim Essen ordentlich zugelangt hatten rückte eine meiner Mitschülerinnen mit dem AVERNA heraus. Sie erzählte uns, dass der AVERNA aus Sizilien stammt und dort vor langer Zeit (1868) von den Brüdern Averna erstmals zusammengebraut wurde. Sie hatten aus ausgesuchten Kräutern einen "amaro" (=bitter) hergestellt, der sich durch seinen besonders milden Geschmack auszeichnet, und der nach einem üppigen Essen den Magen beruhigt und gleichzeitig die Verdauung anregt.
Das Experiment schien wohl gelungen, denn seit dieser Zeit produzierte die Familie Averna und die nun nachfolgende Generationen...

...Noch ist der Blick in den Garten recht trostlos. Aber es kämpfen sich schon kleine, gelbe Blümchen ans Tageslicht. Ich weiß genau, es dauert gar nicht mehr lange - der Frühling naht - und ?ruck zuck? ist es Sommer.
Ich freue mich auf die Zeit, in der wir endlich wieder jammern können, dass es viel zu heiß ist. Dann setze ich mich gerne auf die Terrasse und genieße ein leckeres, kaltes Getränk.
Ich bin alt genug, ich bin gesund und habe kein Alkoholproblem. Deshalb kann ich meinen Drink mit Alkohol anreichern, wenn mir danach ist. Ein Glas Saft oder ein Mineralwasser sind auch sehr erfrischend. Niemand soll sich durch diesen Bericht zum Alkoholkonsum aufgefordert fühlen!
So ein Campari mit Eis, mit Sodawasser oder mit Orangensaft ? hmm, das schmeckt mir.
Campari? Ja, das ist das rote, bittere Zeug aus Italien, nicht jedermanns...

...Averna Amaro wird aus 60 unterschiedliche Kräuter hergestellt und erhält so seinen angenehmen Geschmack. In meinem Stammlokal hat er den Amaro Ramazotti abgelöst, in Italien ist er sowieso die Nummer 1. Er kommt aus Sizilen und wird da von der Familie Averna hergestellt. Er wird pur, mit einem spritzer Zitrone oder einfach auf Eis getrunken. Cocktails mit Averna sind mir nicht bekannt, aber wird es ganz bestimmt geben. Auch sehr gut geeignet als milder Magenputzer nach dem Essen. Mir schmeckt er eigentlich besser wie Ramazotti weil er ein bischen milder ist. Wohl bekomms....
