"Producing against Poverty" is an anthropological research on micro-entrepreneurs in Lima, Peru. It analyses the way micro-producers accumulate capital. The anthropological approach of the book starts with an analysis of the daily lives of the micro-producers. Its gender approach makes a comparison between the position of men and women throughout its argumentation. The author also analyses the conditions of labourers working for micro-producers. By paying extensive attention to the subcontracting links between micro-production and the large scale production process, she carefully builds up to general conclusions which go way beyond the micro level of analysis. Micro-production reproduces poverty by subordinating important participants of the production such as women and labourers. The ultimate conclusion is that the informal sector grows not only in times of economic recession, but also in times of economic growth. ... weniger

In diesem Bericht, es ist mein 73. Bericht, geht es um die peruanische Hauptstadt.
Wie fast alle von euch wissen war ich im Jahr 2005 für 3 Monate in Peru. In Lima habe ich 3 Tage verbracht.

Pro: Große Stadt, interessantes Klima, viel zu besichtigen, ...
Kontra: Viel Armut, man sollte vorsichtig sein
...Ich war letztens in Lima, Perus Hauptstadt. Die meisten Peru-Touristen landen auf dem Flughafen dieser Stadt an der Pazifikküste und durchqueren während der Landung die für Lima typische, immer vorhandene Wolkendecke. Es soll in Lima ca. 4-5 mal im Jahrhundert 'richtigen' Regen geben; die Luftfeuchtigkeit ist hoch, kleinere Nieselregen sind häufig.

Flughafen Lima - leider mehr Bahnhofsflair
Pro: Übersichtlichkeit, Sicherheitseinrichtungen
Kontra: Gebäude, fehlende Fluggastbrücken, geringe Anzahl an Shops/Restaurants
...im internationalen Verkehr nach Peru. Neben den größten inländisch operierenden Fluggesellschaften (Aero Continente, LanPeru, TANS Peru) gibt es weitere kleine Fluggesellschaften, die meistens ausschließlich Inlandsziele anfliegen. Ab Lima sind die meisten peruanischen Städte mit täglichen Verbindungen erreichbar.
International gibt es derzeit nur zwei Fluggesellschaften, die Lima mit Europa verbinden: KLM (ab...
